Remember! These instruments that were essential in Worship, Praise and Intercession in ancient days are still relevant today. If we believe we are making a difference in our atmosphere as we use them, then it is wisdom to know what the impact is, and if there is a specific symbolic way to use them. God has called us to be His ambassadors on the earth, called to do great exploits for Him. Moses would be one example of this. In Exodus the Lord told him to extend his rod- Mat-teh', over the waters, and the Lord would extend the rod, mat-teh' that was in His own hand, and the waters would part. They did.
Following is a short exerpt from the Shofar chapter of the Heavenly Impact Book.
Hebrew #8231 Sha-far' to glisten.
Horn: #7160: To push or gore. To shoot out horns; fig. rays, to shine. From# 7161 a horn as projecting, a ray of light.
Gen.9:12-13 And God said," This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations. I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Rainbow: an arc containing the colors of the spectrum, formed in the sky by the refraction, reflection and dispersion of light in rain or fog. Webster's Dictionary.
Looking once more at the definitions of the word shofar, they make perfect sense, when applied to the symbolism of sound, light and color.(The book gives the scientific proof of why the rainbow appears over us in the spiritual realm when we blow the shofar.)
#8237 shaf-roor' from #8231-splendid, a tapestry or canopy-a royal pavilion in the original sense of incising, meaning to cut through.
Not only are we creating a glorious light show by our worship, but we are preparing a royal canopy, a special place to meet with the Lord. This canopy also forms a protective covering over us in the spiritual realm, as we blow on the shofar and it cuts through the demonic realm, the enemy can't discern the source, his emotion is panic.
Ps.27: 5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. KJV.Ps.31:12 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion
from the strife of tongues.
Job.36:27-29.For He draws up drops of water, which distill as rain from the mist, which the clouds drop down and pour abundantly on man. Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds,
the thunder from His canopy? NKJV.
This gives new meaning to Rev.4:1-3 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Our Lord is the King of kings; no other king in the universe has a people whose worship lifts up this spectacular type of banner. There is no doubt among the hosts of heaven, the identity of our King during this colorful visible display!Isa.18:3 All you inhabitants of the world you who live on the earth: when a banner is hoisted on the mountain, look! When a shofar is blown, listen! CJB.
Ps.97:3 Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about. Amp. Our worship here on earth elicits a genuine impact in the heavenlies and can help to turn our situations around.
What a glorious site in the heavenlies! The angelic host coming with the Lord to rejoice with His people and the host of darkness trying desperately to get out of the way, so they don't get burnt up. To use atmospheric terminology, any stormy weather condition in the spiritual realm will turn to favorable conditions for us.
